Paediatrician and Primary Care Physician Referrals
Paediatricians and primary care physicians must submit referrals to Grandview Kids using Ocean eReferral (Ocean).
Ocean digitizes paper-based fax referrals requesting care, services and supports. Ocean is free for Ontario health service providers. Ocean improves the overall efficiency and accuracy of referrals to Grandview Kids.
Referrals to Grandview Kids can be made directly from the patient chart, with fields auto-filled in for users of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) or Hospital Information Systems (HISs) integrated with Ocean. The integrated EMRs and HISs include Accuro, TELUS PS Suite, CHR, Oscar Pro, Juno and OSCAR Classic.

Make an account and site!
Before you refer to Grandview Kids, we encourage you to create an Ocean user account and an associated Ocean site. Submitting referrals through an account speeds up processing and improves accuracy.
Benefits of an Ocean account and site:
- You can track the status of active referrals
- You can manage past referrals and outcomes in one place
- You can upload supporting documentation after referring to us*
*You cannot do this without an Ocean account and site.
Note: Grandview Kids recommends you create an Ocean account and site. However, you may still submit referrals to Grandview Kids without an Ocean account and site.
