Grandview Kids is the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Diagnostic Hub for the Durham Region under the Ontario Autism Program. This service is delivered in partnership with the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO).
Through the ASD Hub, Grandview Kids completes ASD assessments for children and youth living in the Durham Region. We also partner with a number of community-based physicians who complete diagnostic assessments for the ASD Hub.
If you have concerns regarding your child’s development, you live in the Durham Region, and your child/youth has not previously been assessed for an ASD diagnosis, you can request that your primary care physician (family doctor) refer your child/youth to Grandview Kids for an ASD diagnostic assessment.
ASD Hub eligibility criteria
- Physician referral required.
- Child/youth live in the Durham Region.
- Child/youth is aged 0 to 18.

- Parents/guardians remain with the child/youth during the assessment.
- Assessments may take place over one to four different appointments.
- Physicians use a mix of questionnaires and standardized assessment tools to collect information.
- After the assessment is complete, the child/youth is discharged from the ASD Hub.
- After the assessment is complete, the physician may make other, appropriate referrals to Grandview Kids services or services in the community (as required).
