Grandview Kids is committed to creating accessible, non-clinical recreation opportunities for children and youth. Our programs are designed to foster social connection, physical movement, confidence and creative expression in an inclusive and welcoming environment.
This is a new program for Grandview Kids, and we are excited to begin offering sessions in Fall 2026. Please stay tuned for more information about additional offerings.

We know inclusive and accessible recreation can be a gap for our community and the clients and families we serve. We’re excited to begin addressing this need by making the most of the amenities at Grandview Kids’ Ajax Headquarters, The Jerry Coughlan Building, and partnering with community experts in inclusive recreation to support program delivery. In partnership with Variety Village, participants will have the opportunity to explore a variety of sports, build connections with peers, get active and have fun, including Kin-Ball, volleyball, ringette, boccia and more.
Date: Tuesday evenings, starting October 13 to December 8 (9 sessions)
Group 1
Ages: 9 to 13
Time: 5 to 6 p.m.
Group size: 9
Group 2
Ages: 14 to 18
Time: 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Group size: 9
- Participants are grouped by age to support opportunities for social connection, engagement and shared interests.
Location: Grandview Kids’ Ajax HQ, The Jerry Coughlan Building (1461 Harwood Ave N.)
Cost: $250 per participant (to be paid at the time of registration)
Parents and guardians are expected to remain on-site for the duration of the program.

Spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Eligibility
Children and youth who will be most successful in Grandview Kids’ Inclusive Recreation programming:
- Can remain in a group environment for the duration of the program (e.g., does not require frequent breaks outside the room or group, remains with the group without leaving and tolerates others in their space, etc.).
- Do not engage in behaviours that are harmful or dangerous to themselves or others.
- Have a reliable method of communicating their wants and needs.
- Demonstrate behaviours and use language that is respectful to themselves, peers and adults.
- Do not require individualized behaviour programming.
- Have experience managing and participating in other group environments with a similar staff-to-child ratio (one staff member to three children).
Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) measures
You must meet the current health guidelines and complete a health screen to visit Grandview Kids. At this time, masks are not required to attend this event. Updates to masking requirements may change. We will let you know if this changes.
Cancellation Policy
Groups are non-refundable if the participant cannot attend one or more sessions.
