Our school is one of six schools located in Children’s Treatment Centres in Ontario that are mandated under Section 68 of the Education Act. Grandview School is not under the jurisdiction of any of the local district school boards and, as such, has its trustees appointed by the Minister of Education, who governs the school’s operations and policies.
A Grandview School Authority Trustee is a volunteer position. The Trustee is appointed by the Ministry of Education for a three-year term. It is important to recognize the public trust and responsibility the collective body carries and that this trust and responsibility is honoured through determining and enforcing norms of acceptable behaviour.
