Join the LEGO® Club!
Lego® Club is a fun, structured social skill opportunity designed for children and youth with developmental disabilities, including Autism, who enjoy creating with standard LEGO® bricks.
A variety of LEGO® products and other media will be utilized to foster social communication skills and promote turn-taking and collaboration in a fun and social environment.
Each session will consist of:
- a dynamic warm up, “fun run”
- sport specific drills, group games
- the opportunity to explore the equipment through free choice, finished with a cool-down.
Goal: The goal of this program is to foster social communication skills and promote turn-taking.
Schedule
Start date: Wednesdays, starting January 29, until March 26, 2025. The program runs for 8 weeks, excluding March Break.
Time: 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. (child session) and 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. (youth session)
Location: Grandview Kids – The Jerry Coughlan Building (1461 Harwood Avenue North, Ajax, ON L1T 0R3)
