Summer Camp Offerings
Grandview Kids Camp (Ages 4 to 10)
3:1 ratio

Please note:
Starting Monday, March 17, 2025, at noon, registration is ONLY open to Grandview Kids clients or those waiting for Grandview Kids services. Starting Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at noon, all children with physical, communication and/or developmental needs are welcome to register.
At Grandview Kids Summer Camp, your child will enjoy active games, crafts, music, sensory and cooperative play with other kids just like them! Campers will utilize a variety of spaces at The Jerry Coughlan Building—Grandview Kids’ new Ajax-based headquarters, including: the enclosed accessible playground, gymnasium, pool and sensory trail. Our staff plan a camp curriculum that focuses on developing physical literacy, social interaction, play, motor and leisure skills.
Please note that Grandview Kids is committed to inclusive, supportive and safe participation for all children at camp. To ensure this, camp staff are provided training and support from other Grandview Kids clinicians and staff. Additionally, a 1:3 staff to camper ratio is planned for. To maintain these ratios campers must meet the following criteria for camp eligibility:
- Manage in group environments where the adult to child ratio is at least 1:3.
- Engage in behaviour that is not harmful or dangerous to themselves or others.
- Respect a closed door and is not a flight risk.
- Have a reliable method of communicating their wants and needs.
- Reliably follows 1-step instructions such as: “come here” and “stop.”
- Show respect to self, peers and adults.
Your child may still be eligible to attend Grandview Kids Summer Camp if a family-funded, one-to-one support worker attends with them (see FAQ for one-to-one requirements). Please indicate this with your registration.
Camp participation is NOT limited by personal care needs.

What should my child bring to camp?
Below is a list of items your child should bring to camp. To help mitigate the transmission of illnesses, we ask that toys and non-essential technology be left at home. Please ensure all items are labelled with your child’s first and last name.
- Sunscreen
- Hat
- Nut-free lunch and snacks*
- Bathing suit (we will have opportunities for water play in the playground)
- Extra change of clothes
- Reusable water bottle
- Items for diapering, as required
- Swim items for water play and swimming.
*Please pack an ice pack with your child’s lunch, as there is no fridge access.
What documentation needs to be completed before my child is registered?
A member of Grandview Kids will be reaching out prior to the start of camp to complete a Camper Profile for your child. Additional paperwork, such as administration of medication and alternative pick-up forms, may also be required.
You and your child will be required to attend a Meet-and-Greet at The Jerry Coughlan Building in June 2025 (an invitation to attend this session will be sent closer in the coming months). Grandview Kids staff will use the information gathered here and through the Camper Profile to determine the best group placement for your child at camp.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a refund policy?
A $100 non-refundable deposit will be applied to every camp registration (every spot filled). Refunds may be requested through My Community Hub and will only be accepted if received before June 18, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.
Please be advised: All Grandview Kids Summer Camps are non-refundable after June 18, 2025.
Is there a waitlist for Grandview Kids’ Summer Camp offerings?
Grandview Kids does not keep a formal wait list for summer camp offerings. However, if you have a My Community Hub account, you can click on “waitlist” on any of our currently “full” offerings on My Community Hub, and you will be notified via email when a spot becomes available. To learn more about this process, click on “What is the process of securing a camp space that becomes available?” below.
What is the process of securing a camp space that becomes available?
Grandview Kids Summer Camp spaces may become available after all spots have been filled. If this occurs for a 2025 Summer Camp session, My Community Hub users who have checked the “waitlist” feature on the timeslot they are interested in will be notified via email (with 24 hours’ notice) of an available spot. The email will include the date and time the spot will be “released.” Registration will be on a “first come, first served” basis.
*Please note that using the “wish list” feature in My Community Hub will not place you on any waitlist.
I heard that Grandview Kids’ Summer Camp filled up quickly last year. Is there anything I can do to increase my chances of securing a spot in the session(s) I want?
Grandview Summer Camps spots fill up very quickly. If your desired camp session fills up, it is recommended that you place your child on the wait list in My Community Hub. That way, if a spot becomes available, you will be notified right away.
Learn more about the waitlist in the question above (“What is the process of securing a camp space that becomes available?”).
Can I register for just one week of camp?
No. All camp sessions are two weeks long and cannot be purchased separately.
Why are Grandview Kids Camp sessions two weeks long?
Following positive feedback from camp staff and families last summer, Grandview Kids Summer Camp will again be held in two-week sessions this summer.
Transitions and engaging with new places, routines and people can be challenging for many of our campers. Two-week camp sessions allow for the establishment of routines. Additionally, staff reported that having extra time to get to know the campers allowed for a camp experience that supported their individual needs and strengths. As we have never run camp at The Jerry Coughlan Building (Grandview Kids’ new, Ajax-based headquarters), there will be many new routines and spaces this year, even for our most seasoned campers!
What are the 1:1 support requirements?
Children who do not meet the eligibility criteria may require 1:1 support. Grandview Kids is not able to provide a 1:1 staff-supported model this summer. However, one-to-one support can be provided by family-hired and paid external support workers. To ensure proper orientation to the site, completed paperwork outlining the external support worker’s name and details must be supplied to Grandview Kids no later than Friday, June 6, 2025. Copies of police record checks are required.
If your child requires 1:1 support and you plan to hire a support worker to attend camp with your child, please email PurchasedServices@grandviewkids.ca to coordinate their attendance.
