Watch the video below as Grandview Kids Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Tom McHugh, highlights the incredible year we have experienced and introduces our 2024-25 Year in Review.
A message from our CEO and Board Chair
This past year marked one of special significance in Grandview Kids’ history. As we opened the doors to The Jerry Coughlan Building—our new, state-of-the-art headquarters—we realized a long-held dream and ushered in a new chapter of growth, innovation and more profound connection with the community we serve.
The opening of this fully accessible, enhanced facility was more than a physical move; it was a symbol of resilience, partnership and progress. Built on the foundation of years of advocacy, planning and generosity, this space represents what’s possible when vision meets action. It embodies our commitment to children and youth with physical, communication, and developmental needs and the caregivers, clinicians and community members who support them.
The 2024-25 fiscal year also saw the launch a bold new strategic plan: Powering Potential. Guided by this plan, Grandview Kids is strengthening its focus on meaningful client and caregiver outcomes, building a thriving Team Grandview and enhancing impact through strong local partnerships. These priorities reflect not only where we are, but where we are headed.
We want to acknowledge the extraordinary dedication of our staff, volunteers and leadership team who have adapted to change with courage and grace. From implementing new service delivery models to advancing family engagement and equity initiatives, their efforts are shaping a more inclusive, responsive system of care.
This was also the year we celebrated the successful close of the $20 million Believe Campaign. Launched publicly in 2018, the campaign made a remarkable impact in Durham Region, connecting deeply with donors, families and community members. Its completion and the transition to our new home opened the door for a new, integrated fundraising model. In early 2025, Grandview Kids established an in-house Development Department, creating a unified approach to fund development and donor care. We remain deeply grateful for the Grandview Kids Foundation’s 30-year legacy of community-driven generosity, which helped shape the programs and services that support children, youth and caregivers today.
We offer our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to this landmark year and look forward to many more to come. Together, we are “powering potential” and building a future where every child and youth can live, learn and play at their full potential.
