Grandview Kids Foundation update
In this section:
In 2024-25, Grandview Kids experienced a remarkable year of growth, transformation and new beginnings. The opening of our new headquarters, The Jerry Coughlan Building, marked a significant milestone in our journey, as we said goodbye to our long-standing home at 600 Townline Road in Oshawa. Alongside this physical move came an important evolution in how we connect with our community through a reimagined approach to fundraising.
Following the successful completion of the Believe Campaign, in early 2025, Grandview Kids strategically decided to transition fundraising operations in-house. This shift led to the closure of the Grandview Kids Foundation and the introduction of our new Development Department. Working in close partnership with Team Grandview and senior leadership, the Development Department will continue to lead and reimagine our fundraising efforts to meet the growing needs of our organization to better serve the children, youth and families who access our programs and services.
Fundraising at Grandview Kids
Grandview Kids celebrated a landmark year in fundraising following the official conclusion of the Believe Campaign—our ambitious $20-million capital initiative launched to bring our new, state-of-the-art headquarters, The Jerry Coughlan Building, to life.
Since its public launch in 2018, the Believe Campaign has left a lasting mark across Durham Region and beyond, inspiring deep community connection and generosity. Thanks to the collective efforts of our donors, volunteers, Team Grandview staff, clients and caregivers, we reached our $20-million goal, enabling the creation of a larger, more advanced facility in Ajax to better serve children and youth with physical, communication and developmental needs. A highlight of this new space is the Donor Wall—a lasting tribute to the extraordinary individuals and organizations who helped make this dream a reality.
In 2024-25, Grandview Kids experienced an extraordinary year of fundraising, with over 425 generous donors and community members raising more than $1.85 million to support the children, youth and families Grandview Kids serves.
From the overwhelming success of third-party and signature events to the ongoing generosity we received throughout the year, the Durham Region community demonstrated its unwavering commitment to helping Grandview Kids thrive. This incredible support has created new opportunities and potential for those who access Grandview Kids’ programs and services.
The 28th Annual Golf Fore Grandview Kids Charity Golf Classic

The 28th Annual Golf Fore Grandview Kids Charity Golf Classic was held on May 30, 2024, and welcomed an outstanding turnout of community vendors, generous prize donors and passionate participants. Under clear skies, the tournament offered a vibrant day of fun, friendly competition and shared big-heartedness, as golfers of all skill levels gathered on the green to support Grandview Kids.
For nearly 30 years, this signature event has stood as a cornerstone fundraiser for Grandview Kids and a much-anticipated occasion within the broader community. Volunteers and staff from Grandview Kids were proud to be on-site, sharing stories and raising awareness about the programs and services that support the lives of children and youth every day.
This year’s tournament raised more than $98,000 in support of Grandview Kids—a tremendous achievement made possible by the dedication of sponsors, golfers, donors and volunteers. Grandview Kids extends its sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to this remarkable success.
The 3rd Dream Big, Dream Brighter: Making the Future a Brighter Place

The 3rd Dream Big, Dream Brighter: Making the Future a Brighter Place Awards Gala was held on November 21, 2024, and was an unforgettable evening filled with inspiration, heartfelt moments and celebration. Hosted in partnership with Elexicon Energy, Grandview Kids proudly honoured two extraordinary clients with the “Spirit of Grandview Kids” Awards, recognizing one current client and one alumnus whose perseverance and spirit reflect the heart of Grandview Kids.
The award recipients’ powerful speeches deeply moved guests, including keynote speaker Anthony Lue, whose words brought many to tears and highlighted the resilience, determination and hope that define the Grandview Kids community.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of attendees, sponsors, Grandview Kids staff and the unwavering support of Elexicon Energy, we raised over $48,000 in support of life-changing programs and services for children and youth at Grandview Kids. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to this meaningful evening and look forward to building on this success for future galas.
Thank you!
As we begin this new chapter, we offer our deepest gratitude to the donors, businesses and community members who have supported us over the past 30 years. Your incredible generosity has lit a path of excellence, discovery, belonging and celebration—within our walls and throughout the Durham Region. Grandview Kids would not be the beacon of hope it is today without your unwavering commitment and compassion. Thank you for believing. We can’t wait to see all that is ahead of us in 2025.
